Rangemaster Clone Wiring Steps 1-5
Step 1:
Trim a piece of yellow wire just long enough to go from the TIP
of the IN JACK to LUG2 of the footswitch. You want this wire to
be as short as possible. Strip 3mm of each end and solder one
end to the TIP of the IN JACK and the other to LUG2 of the
footswitch. Your pedal should look like the picture below when
you are finished with step 1. Use the blue wire for the Ringer
kit.
Step 2:
Trim enough yellow wire to connect LUG3 of the footswitch to LUG6 of the footswitch. There should be a little
slack left in this wire so that you can bend it down when you are done. Strip 3mm off each end of the wire and
solder one end to lug3 and the other to lug6. Your pedal should look like the pic below when you are finished
with step 2.
Step 3:
Basically repeat step1, but connect LUG 5 of the footswitch to the TIP of the OUT JACK. Your pedal should look
like the picture below when you are finished with step 3. If you are building the Squeezer or Ringer kits, go back to
the instruction index and click on "wire step 4" NOW to continue.
Step 4:
Trim enough wire to connect the RING of the IN JACK with the SLEEVE of the OUT JACK. You want to make this
wire long enough so that you can bend it down and run it along the inside of the enclosure. Trim 3mm of each end
and solder one end to the ring of the in jack and the sleeve of the out jack. Your pedal should look like the picture
below when you are finished with step 4.
Step 5:
Connect the battery snap to a 9v battery and insert the battery into the enclosure. Trim enough of the red battery
wire to connect to the SLEEVE of the IN JACK. You want to leave enough slack so that it will be easy to change your
battery. Also, it is not necessary to twist the red and black battery wires together. This just gives your wiring a neater
appearance and makes the wires less likely to fray when changing the battery. Strip 3mm off the end of the trimmed
red wire and solder to the sleeve of the in jack. Your pedal should look like the picture below when you are finished
with step 5.
